Well, almost… It’s going to be sweater weather soon. I find it a welcome respite after the summer heat. Everything is coming up pumpkin spice and changing colours. I love this time of year. I also wish we could experience winter for the month of December only, then dive right into the warmer temperatures. But you can’t have it all!
Ah well, enough about the weather.
The change in season also signals the launch of the “Fall Market” in the real estate world. Much like the Spring Market, prospective buyers and sellers renew their quests for a new nest and plan their next moves.
More homes will come on the market with homeowners downsizing to avoid shovelling the snow, upsizing to accommodate family visits over the winter’s holiday season, or simply taking advantage of the ever-growing population of buyers. I have helped several clients this past year with selling their homes and joining the throngs who are moving out of the city of Toronto.
The flip side of this trend is the steady stream of folks moving into the city, which will increase as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted for students, employees currently working from home, new industry forecasted for Toronto, and immigration policies.
It remains a seller’s market at this time as the ratio of homes listed for sale to the buyer population is benefitting sellers.
